What is the Conferendum Conference Portal?
With the Conferendum Conference Portal you can manage all conference activities of your organization with a single portal which can be integrated into your website. You can run several conferences in parallel as well as manage your archived conferences.
You can administrate the users of your portal with a simple Excel spread sheet. Users can log on to the portal directly on your website in order to join or to start a conference. You define who is able to start conferences and who can only join meetings.
How can I integrate the conference portal into my website?
The integration is very easy and does not require any programming knowledge. You simply add a page to your website in which you can add the conference portal with three lines of JavaScript. You can adapt the application to your design requirements very easily with the Conferendum Designer.
How can I start a meeting in the conference portal?
To start a meeting, simply click on „Start a new conference“, enter the conference title and set an optional conference key. The conference key can only include numbers!
How can I join a conference in the Conferendum Conference Portal?
Log-on to the Conferendum Conference Portal with your login and password. You will see a listing of all current conferences. Click on the conference you wish to join and enter the conference key if the conference is not public. If you do not know the conference key you can click on “I don’t know the conference key – please knock!”. Write a message which will be sent to the conference leader. The conference leader can accept or reject your request to enter the conference room.
How can I change my picture in the Conferendum Conference Portal?
Just click “Change profile picture” and then “Load own picture from hard disc” to upload a picture from your PC. Click “Display window smaller” and “Display window bigger” to change the size of the picture frame and move the frame with your mouse to the section of the picture you want to use. You can check the preview and click on “Save and close” if you are happy with the result.
How can I run a hardware test?
You are able to check your hardware before a conference starts to make sure your audio settings are ok and everything is working fine. Click “Hardware Test“ and follow the instructions.
How can I change the language of the Conferendum software?
Conferendum is offered in 19 languages. By default, Conferendum runs in the language of your operating system. You can change the language any time by clicking on “Language”. The entire Conference Portal as well as the conference itself will then run in the selected language. Each participant can choose his or her own favorite language.
How can I record a conference?
The Conferendum Conference Portal includes a full recording, archiving and playing solution. To start the recording click “Start recording” any time during a conference. If you want to stop or pause the recording click “Stop recording”. The conference will be recorded including audio and video. All participants will see a message that indicates to them that the conference is being recorded.
How can I watch a recorded conference?
You can access a recorded conference either via the link sent to the conference leader after a recorded meeting or via the archive area within the conference portal.
Depending on your account settings, the conference leader receives a conference report after the meeting via e-mail which includes a link to play the recorded conference. This link can be forwarded to anyone by clicking on “Forward recording”. In order to not forward the entire conference report, just use the “Forward recording” button!
In the left part of the conference portal you are able to see the archive area. Here you can find conferences that have been recorded by other conference leaders or you can find your own recordings in the “My recordings” folder. When you have found the conference you want to watch, just click on the link to start the player. If the conference leader has set a conference key, you will need to enter it in order to access the recording.
As the owner of the recording, you can also delete the recording or move it into the permanent archive area with a right mouse click on the recording link. By default, each recording is listed in the archive section for three days unless the conference leader moves it to the permanent recordings folder.
I received my login and password for the Conferendum Conference Portal, how can I change it?
After you have received your login and your password from the administrator, log on to the portal and click “Password” to change your initial password.
I am the administrator of the conference portal. How can I create logins and passwords for new users?
As an administrator, you can manage all logins and passwords with a simple Excel spread sheet and without any programming or database knowledge. Click ”User administration“ and then “Get current user data”. Conferendum downloads and opens an Excel spread sheet with the current user data. You can now enter new users, delete users, change their rights or their passwords. Conferendum recommends using the user’s e-mail address as a login. In that case the user is able to receive a conference report after a meeting which includes a link to replay the conference if it has been recorded. Leave the column “Rights” empty if the user is only allowed to join conferences. Type “MOD” in this column if you want to grant moderator rights to the user. With moderator rights the user can also start conferences. Type “ADMIN” in this column if you want to create an additional administrator.
Warning! If you create a new administrator, he or she can also change and delete users, moderators and administrators. The number of moderators and administrators is limited according to the product you have booked.
How can I delete a user?
In order to delete a user from the portal just type “DEL” in the ”Delete“ column of the Excel user spread sheet. Save the file and upload it to the server by clicking “Upload new user data”. The user is now deleted. You can always verify if the operation has been successful by downloading the current user data.
How can I assign moderator rights to users?

A user forgot the password. How can I reset it?
Just download the current user data Excel spread sheet and type a new password in the ”Password“ column for this user. Save the file and upload it back to the server by clicking on “Upload new user data”. The new password is registered immediately by the conference portal. It’s that easy.
